Restaurant Style Yogurt Chicken Recipe


Ingredients:- 

  • 500 gram. Chicken
  • Yogurt/Curd (Dahi)
  • Ginger paste
  • Garlic paste
  • Red chili powder
  • Green Chilis
  • 1/2 Lemon (optional)
  • Coriander powder
  • Cumin powder
  • Turmeric powder
  • Garam Masala (Whole Spices)
  • 2 medium-size chopped Onions
  • Garam masala powder
  • Salt (per taste)
  • Sugar (per taste)
  • Cooking oil

Cooking time:- 30 minutes
Servings:- 3-4 

Method:-

 Step-1

At first, We have to wash and clean the chicken properly. To Marinate the chicken, add 1 tbsp Ginger and garlic paste, 1 tbsp Coriander powder and Cumin powder, 1/2 tbsp Red chili powder, 1 tbsp turmeric powder, Add 1/2 tbsp salt, or as per your taste, 1 Cup of fresh Yogurt or Dahi, and half lemon juice (optional). Mix all these things very well. After mixing, cover the marinated Chicken with a lid or foil paper and keep it aside for 20-30 minutes. 

Step-2

Heats up a Kadai or large pan, Add 3 large spoons of Cooking oil. You can use refined oil also. When the Kadai (pan) heats up then add crushed Garam masala, Stir it well. After 1-2 minutes add Chopped onions. Fry the onions on medium to low heat. Fry until the onions are soft. After 5-7 minutes, when the Onions are soft, add marinated Chicken. Stir continuously on medium heat. After 5 minutes, cover it with a lid and cook for few minutes.

Step-3

After a while, stir the chicken then again cover it with a lid and cook for 10 minutes on medium to high heat. After 10 minutes, again stir it well and then add Salt per taste, Sugar as per taste. Add 3-4 green Chilis, if you want more spicy then add extra green Chilis. Stir it and cook till the gravy dries out and oil comes out of it. Continuously stir it on high heat. After few minutes, when the gravy dries out add 1 cup of water. When the gravy starts boiling again cover it with a lid for 5 minutes. After 5-8 minutes, turn the flame high. Now add 1/2 small spoon of garam masala powder. Mix well Masala with chicken and cook for 2 minutes. After 2-3 minutes turn off the flame. Now the Yogurt/Dahi Chicken is ready to serve. Serve this yogurt/Dahi Chicken recipe with Roti, Steamed basmati rice, Jeera rice, or fried rice.
