Facebook, Twitter and Instagram getting banned in India

Will popular social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter really shut down in India?

This question is now on the minds of every Indian and is being debated on social media. On February 25, the center issued a set of guidelines to curb the misuse of social media. The three months deadline for implementing the guidelines is set to expire on May 26. But no other social platform has done these guidelines except only local app (Koo). Questions have been raised on social media sites as to whether popular companies like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and WhatsApp are going to be shut down in India for not enforcing the policy?

The central government had said that the accused would be produced in court if anyone posted any objection on social media. Each platform will have a chief officer and that officer must be a resident of India. At the same time, new policies were introduced to control the OTT platform. One has to appoint a head to communicate on each platform. According to the new rules, there will be a section for making complaints on every social platform. Action must be taken within 72 hours of receiving the complaint on the OTT platform.

Facebook, the world's largest social media platform, said it was willing to abide by the center's new rules. But wanted to discuss some issues with the government. Google is looking for some time in this direction to the center. At the same time, it is not certain whether they agree with all the rules of the government.

However, there are indications that the guidelines will not be changed. One source claims that whether like it or not, the new instructions have to be fully complied with by social media.
